Le Perroquet.
L’oiseau représenté ci-dessus est de l’espèce que les naturalistes désignent sous le nom de Perroquet à la houpe. C’est la plus bavarde. Ce volatile ne se contente pas, comme les autres perroquets, les sansonnets et les pies-borgnes, de répeter ce qu’il a entendu dire; il y ajoute encore de son crû, cequi fait un fort, vilain ramage. Personne n’est à l’abri de ses coups de bec, et sa proie peut d’autant moins facilement lui échapper qu’il a pour habitude de la saisir par les cheveux.
