(Robert Macaire au propriétaire) quelle magnifique bête !! Oh ! Monsieur, quelle magnifique tête vous avez !!…. permettez donc que je complète mon étude en vous peignant à côté de votre magnifique cheval ……. cela fera un tableau magnifique.
…………Un mois après, le propriétaire reçoit une croute vernissée, encadrée et accompagnée d’une demande de mille écus…. il refuse de payer ce qu’il n’a pas commandé ; Robert-Macaire le poursuit en justice……… il paye alors par crainte du scandale et l’artiste passe à une autre étude.

(the outcome) A month later the owner receives a badly painted picture drowned in glazing, framed and accompanied by a bill for a thousand écus... he refuses to pay for what he has not commissioned... Robert Macaire prosecutes... he then pays for fear of a scandal and the artist goes on to another study.
